DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A bedridden man died after firefighters pulled him from a burning home in Daytona Beach, firefighters said.
Daytona Beach firefighters battled the fully engulfed house fire on Ocean Dunes Road which started a little after 5 p.m. Saturday.
A husband and wife, who have not been identified, were inside the home when it caught fire. The wife was able to escape but could not get her husband out of the house.
Firefighters were able to rescue her husband, who was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officials said the husband succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Two dogs died in the fire, according to officials.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The fire took two hours to extinguish.
