Hot air balloon lands in Osceola County neighborhood

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A hot air balloon landed on a home, then in the middle of an Osceola County road Tuesday morning.

A Channel 9 viewer, Michael Shearer, sent Eyewitness News video of the balloon near the intersection of Arrow and Clover lanes in the Sherwood Forest Area in Kissimmee.

"We heard some popping and we thought, maybe, 'What the heck is that? This sounds different.' We looked out the window, and they were having trouble getting their balloon to refire," said neighbor Landon Townsend.

Roland Caron said the hot air balloon landed right on his house. Deputies, the pilot and two people that were in the balloon, helped remove the balloon.

"They pulled the cord and let it fall down to the ground. Then they packed it up and put it away," Townsend said.

No one was hurt.

It's still unclear why the balloon landed in the neighborhood in the first place.
