BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Trappers had to be called to the College Oaks Apartments on University Lane Friday afternoon, when someone spotted an alligator hiding underneath a car in Cocoa.
“I’m a big animal advocate, and I do worry about the children and the dogs, but I don’t want to see it die,” said resident, Denise Miyo.
The trapper believes the alligator was looking for a mate, and the trapper said he expects more calls to the state’s nuisance alligator hotline in the next coming weeks.
“It’s the beginning of mating season. They’re going to be moving around,” said trapper, Frank Robb.
The gator was killed. No one was hurt.
