Fire damages car wash along Colonial Drive in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Fire ripped through a business along West Colonial Drive in Orlando early Thursday.

Around 1:30 a.m., firefighters rushed to Squeeky’s Car Wash near John Young Parkway.

Crews worked to put out flames and remained at the scene for several hours.

Daylight revealed extensive damage to the building that houses the self-service section of the business.

Channel 9 reached out to the Orlando Fire Department for information about how the fire started.

OFD said while its arson unit responded, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Channel 9′s Q McCray spoke to the manager of the business who said that the drive-thru car wash near the rear of the property was not damaged by the fire.

He said he was uncertain when the automatic wash would reopen to customers since power restoration was still necessary.
