PALM BAY, Fla. — A suspected drunken driver is in the Brevard County jail after Palm Bay police said he smashed head-on into another vehicle Friday morning and killed another driver.
Shane Dreher has been charged with driving under the influence. Channel 9's Mike Manzoni found out this is his third DUI.
The crash happened on an overpass at Babcock Street and Interstate 95 in Malabar just after midnight, police said.
Dreher’s pickup truck crossed the double yellow line and hit the 70-year-old’s minivan. The victim's name has not been released, police said.

A good Samaritan stopped to help in the crash. Dreher is accused of punching that person in the face and running into nearby woods, police said.
A Brevard County Sheriff’s Office helicopter crew spotted Dreher and he was arrested, police said.
Manzoni pulled Dreher’s criminal record and found he received a ticket in June for texting while driving and not wearing a seat belt. Manzoni also found out Dreher has been arrested on DUI charges three times within the past 10 years. The records showed he faced two DUI charges in Brevard County in 2012.
