COCOA, Fla. — Deputies are investigating after a Cocoa teenager was shot at a home late Sunday morning, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.
The shooting took place around 10:30 a.m. at a house on the 600 block of Ridgewood Drive, deputies said.

The teenage victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition with a life-threatening gunshot wound, deputies said.
Investigators said preliminary information indicates a family member was showing another relative a gun that had recently been purchased. The gun then fired.
Investigators are still interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
