WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. — A bicyclist is dead after being hit while trying to cross a Winter Springs road late Friday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Linda Correa, 49 of Winter Springs, was biking along Lake Drive approaching Huntridge Way around 11:15 p.m. when she crossed in front of a 2008 Honda Accord traveling behind her, troopers said.
Correa was taken to a nearby hospital where she died, troopers said.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
