APOPKA, Fla. — A bear was found hanging out in a tree Tuesday morning in an Apopka neighborhood.

The bear is at Bonnie Glen Lane and Kee Street, near downtown Apopka.

It’s unclear why the bear is in the neighborhood. However it is garbage day.

The bear looked like needed some help, Jacquelyn Ramirez said.

"It looks really thirsty," she said. "It looks dehydrated. I don't know why it came here, but I really feel bad for it."

The bear was in Ramirez's aunt's tree and she said that usually something like this doesn't seem like a big deal, but now that it's right in front of her, it's different.

"When I see it on the news, I think it's not a big deal, but now that one's here, I'm, like, 'Wow, OK,'" she said.

Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission did not respond to the scene.

Neighbors told Channel 9’s Steve Barrett that they’re stay in their homes and out of the bears way.
