3-year-old given several doses of Narcan after overdosing on fentanyl

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lady Lake woman was arrested and charged with child neglect after detectives say a 3-year-old child overdosed on amphetamines and fentanyl while in her care.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to The Villages Regional hospital in reference to a child having a “medical episode.”

When investigators arrived they were told a child had been brought into the hospital and was unresponsive.

According to the Sheriff’s Office report, Destinee Keen, 28, of Lady Lake drove the toddler to the emergency room after noticing the child “breathing in an odd way”

Detectives say while they were at the hospital the child had to be given several doses of Narcan.

When asked by deputies what happened Keen said that she had a baggie of “Molly” that must have fallen out while she was changing clothes and that the child must have found it.

The child was later taken to Arnold Palmer hospital in Orlando in critical condition.
