Police: Man, 19, fatally shot at Orlando apartment complex

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 19-year-old man was found shot to death Monday outside an Orlando apartment complex, the Orlando Police Department said.

The shooting was reported at about 7:18 p.m. at Venetian Place Apartments in the 4500 block of Commander Drive.

The victim, who was not identified, was found dead at the scene, police said.

A neighbor said the the shooting took place in a part of the complex where many families with young children live.

Daryelis Cabado was nearby with her 4-year-old son when the shots rang out.

"I opened the door and that's when I hear the gunshots," she said. "Like, three, straight up. My son, he was so scared. He was, 'Mommy, what happened? Is it fireworks?'"

No other information was immediately released.
