VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The state attorney’s office has dismissed 18 cases that involved a former Volusia County deputy accused of stealing money from DUI suspects.
All 18 cased hinged on arrests made by John Braman or the need for his testimony in court for a conviction.
Last month, allegations came about that Braman, 33, stole the money.
He was placed on paid administrative leave before he resigned two weeks ago.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is still reviewing complaints about the stolen money and it's not known yet if charges will be filed.
Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said Braman would turn off his body camera during some of his arrests.
