ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are asking the public for help identifying a man they say pepper sprayed an 11-year-old boy and stole his phone as he walked to the bus stop.
The sheriff’s office released a composite sketch of the man over the weekend, describing him as a black male between 17-20 years old.
The incident happened at about 8:15 a.m. Nov. 7 as the boy was walking to the bus stop in the 3200 block of Hiawassee Road, investigators said.
The man approached him and asked to use the boy’s cell phone, and when the 11-year-old said he didn’t have one, the man said, “Hey!” and pepper sprayed him in the face, deputies said.
The man then took the boy’s white Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime phone and fled south on Hiawassee Road.
Anyone with information on the incident or man allegedly involved is asked to call Crimeline, 800-423-8477.
