A man who was stabbed multiple times by a woman he allegedly tried to rape last week is now charged with the rape of a child last summer, detectives said.
Robert Pascual's new charges stem from an investigation that began in Mount Dora, when an 11-year-old girl reported that 22-year-old Pascual approached her while she was lying in bed and began touching her inappropriately.
She told detectives he tried to take her outside.
Detectives believe Pascual moved to Clermont after the alleged incident.
The woman managed to convince him to move back into the vehicle, then grabbed a hidden knife in a storage compartment and stabbed him, investigators said.
Deputies later found Pascual, bloodied, underneath a stairwell
Pascual is now charged with lewd or lascivious molestation on a victim less than 12 years of age, on top of the attempted rape charges.
